Who is your favorite role model from history and why?
My grandfather, Papili, was the most feminist and progressive person I knew. He always encouraged the women in his life – my grandmother, my mother, my sister, and me – to emancipate themselves and be as independent as possible. He constantly told us: "Work, work, work! And never let yourselves be limited because you are women!" He always supported and encouraged us in all our endeavors, whether it be in sports, work, travel, etc. This gave me valuable self-confidence, a legacy that I cherish every day. He was a true feminist role model for me because I believe the greatest feminists are those who fully embrace their femininity. I admired his strength, which came from his ability to express his vulnerability.
What's the most empowering quote by a woman that motivates you daily?
"If they try to make you deny your mistakes
It's not because they love you
If you realize that love isn't there
That at night you go to sleep
Without any dreams in you
Resist
Prove that you exist
Search for your happiness everywhere, go
Reject this selfish world
Resist
Follow your insistent heart"
France Gall
If you could have dinner with three influential women, living or deceased, who would you choose and what would you ask them?
Florence Foresti, because she is the person who makes me laugh the most on Earth (after my sister).
Amélie Poisson, CEO of La Redoute, is in my opinion one of the greatest visionaries in the Consumer sector in France today. I greatly admire her journey, the transformation she has brought about within La Redoute, and on top of that, she's really nice!!
Queen Elizabeth II because she has crossed the 20th century and all its geopolitical and societal upheavals. I am passionate about history and extremely curious, I would dream of knowing all the state secrets.
If you had to create a women's empowerment playlist, which songs would definitely be on it?
"I'm Every Woman" by Whitney Houston
"Oh, Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison
"Evil Woman" by Electric Light Orchestra
"Femme libérée" by Cookie Dingler
If you could travel back in time and give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?
Have confidence in your instincts and capitalize on your strengths. Not seeking to conform to a predefined model was a valuable lesson in my professional journey. It took me some time to find my path. At the age of 27, I felt completely lost, with the impression that everyone had already boarded the train of success, while I remained stuck on the platform. That's when I decided to seek guidance from a professional coach, a decision that helped me better understand myself and, above all, to accept that not all careers are alike. I realized that my career would be unconventional. I get bored quite quickly and I like to change positions every 18 months. This discovery was liberating. I learned that choosing doesn't necessarily mean giving up. This revelation helped me embrace my need for diversity and change as a strength, not as a flaw. Working in different positions and environments has offered me many opportunities for learning and personal growth. Understanding that choosing a path doesn't necessarily mean closing off all others was an important lesson. It allowed me to navigate a landscape of possibilities, making informed decisions that were best for me at any given time.
Can you share a memorable and empowering moment from your personal life or career that made you proud to be a woman?
I find this question difficult... I think pride is a feeling that concerns the individual as a whole, not just their gender. Nevertheless, it is true that women, throughout history and even today, face specific challenges that can forge a particular resilience. That said, if I had to share a moment that makes me proud as a woman, it would be a moment where this resilience played a key role. For example, during a professional project where I was underrepresented as a woman in my field, I managed to overcome prejudices and make a significant contribution that was recognized by my peers. This recognition was all the more gratifying as it came after facing obstacles and working hard to prove my worth not only as a woman but as a competent professional. In my opinion, it is important to celebrate resilience and strength of character, which are admirable human qualities regardless of gender. Society is progressing, albeit slowly, towards a more equitable recognition of individuals' achievements, without gender biases. Every step in this direction is a reason to feel proud, whether you are a woman or a man.
Share a fun or empowering piece of advice you received from an influential woman in your life.
The story of Kelly Massol, the creator of Les Secrets de Loly, is a deep inspiration for me. From being a customer, she became a precious friend, rising through her own strength of character and unwavering will. Her mantra, which often resonates, "If the door is closed, I'll find a window," is a demonstration of her tenacity and perseverance. She constantly pushes me to go beyond my limits and to take my place with confidence. I am infinitely grateful to her for the energy she transmits to me and for the example she represents for all women, regardless of their background, social status, or appearance. Her journey is truly admirable and deserving of respect.
What advice would you give to young women who are just starting their careers?
Dare, be bold! Never limit yourself and seek (or establish) a professional environment that appreciates you for who you are intrinsically. Wearing a mask every day is exhausting! I firmly believe that professional fulfillment is only possible when we are in total harmony with our deep identity and fundamental values.
What does International Women's Day mean to you personally, and how do you celebrate the achievements and contributions of women in your everyday life?
I am privileged to evolve in an enlightened and educated environment where I sacrifice no choice, desire, or pleasure as a woman. For me, this is the most authentic way to pay tribute to the daily accomplishments and contributions of women. International Women's Day thus becomes a sacred moment to reflect on the progress made by women in recent years and to acknowledge the long road ahead, especially in regions of the world where women's rights are increasingly threatened. It is already difficult enough to progress; it angers me to see setbacks on social achievements and legal rights that should be obvious!
White shirts can be dressed up or down, making them suitable for various occasions. How do you style a white shirt to reflect your personality and make a fashion statement?
As the granddaughter of a tailor and the daughter of a tailor, the shirt has been central to my wardrobe since I was very young, with a collection totaling nearly fifty pieces! Of all weaves: poplin, oxford, pinpoint, gabardine… and of all shapes - more or less fitted, more or less long, with or without a collar. I wear it as casually with ripped jeans and sneakers on the weekends as I do with a jacket and high heels at work. Even at the beach, I wear men's white shirts as tunics! The white shirt embodies the versatility of my style: formal and dignified, while allowing for elegant creativity that allows me to express an unlimited range of looks. This timeless piece is synonymous with confidence on any occasion.
