Introducing the newest collection from designer Anne Fontaine.
The new Fall-Winter 2022 collection explores the line between masculine and feminine. A modern collection of timeless classics that pushes the boundaries between gender aesthetics in materials, silhouettes, and patterns. Unexpected texture and impeccable craft define designer Anne Fontaine’s passion for extraordinary details, original shapes, and bold silhouettes; igniting a visual unity that includes luxurious fabrics, intricate detailing and layers of texture all infused with a modern sensibility.
The spirit of androgyny is celebrated in this collection, which is inspired by the life and work of French novelist and memoirist George Sand. Sand was one of the most iconic authors during the European Romantic era. She was also one of many notable 19th-century female authors who chose to wear male attire in public. In an era when women were expected to be submissive and obedient, Sand’s decision to dress as a man came from a desire to sow confusion about her identity to increase her chances of being published in a then resolutely male publishing world. It was the writer-explorer in Sand that drew so many people to her. She was loved for her courage, determination, refusal of hypocrisy and compromise and desire for equality of all kinds. This collection pays homage to Sand’s spirit - bringing forth designs for the modern woman who is free to explore her own world, on her own terms.
This new collection expresses a tale of contrasts— showcased through both architectural shapes and organic forms paired with both masculine and feminine silhouettes. This season the palette expands past the house codes of black and white punctuated with hues of tango red, majestic mint, and bright anemone to encompass a range of colors that pay tribute to Anne's love of nature.
We invite you to join us this season as a new story unfolds: One of tales dedicated from present and future, showcasing a collective of style and an introspection of chic.
Welcome to the next chapter.
